My temp spiked up this morning and then I got my peak …. Weird coincidence or is it possible I ovulated yesterday before my LH test turned positive?

from my understanding, temp spikes means you already ovulated. versus a dip in temp means you’re ABOUT to ovulate within 24-48 hours (ish).

@victoriajgocal,
Yup exactly. So it’s weird I got a temp spike the day of my peak. Usually you would ovulate a day or two AFTER the peak.

@LMbb,
ya it is weird. If it was me I would assume that something else (besides ovulation) caused my temp to spike. That is the most likely answer imo.

I understand your thinking and reasoning but I would trust the test as the LH surge happens before ovulation, not after. BBT could be a random fluke and it takes 3 days or consecutive temp increase to confirm ovulation happened, not one spike. Based on your test, I would say you should ovulate tomorrow. I would expect a temp dip tomorrow then rise again the next day. Either way, I would keep testing the next couple days and having sex, if you can and are trying to conceive.

@Courtney6118,
Little dip? It was a hard morning I find I have a lot of anxiety on the important BBT temps waiting for the increase so I toss and turn and wake up random times The true test is if it goes back up tomorrow!
